Sugar Free Low Carb Thai Iced Tea
So, you love a good icy cold glass of creamy Thai Iced Tea? Me too.
Traditionally made, it has about 15 million grams of sugar per glass. 😉
I made some Panang Curry (last post) the other week, and had THIS up in my cupboard, and thought to my self… Self, you should make a low carb version to go with your curry.
So I did.
I have ALWAYS thought the magic of the Thai Iced Tea was in the sweetened condensed milk they used to make it. And that, for sure, makes it delicious. But what I discovered was that adding a little Truvia and a splash of heavy cream also does the trick, guys!
Per usual, I don’t have a recipe for you. Just a method of what I did.
- Brew 1 bag of tea for at least 10 minutes, so that it gets really strong. I did this while I put together my easy Panang Curry.
- Pour over a glass filled with ice.
- Add 1 tablespoon of heavy cream, and 1 dash of Truvia (to taste), stir, and serve!
I hope you try this! It is up in the 100’s here in San Diego, and this hits the spot!!
Happy, Ice Tea-ing, y’all!!
