Something Sarah Loves.. Valentine’s Day!! San Diego Boudoir Mini Session
I am a red rose loving, chocolate heart eating, gushy card making Valentine’s Day cliche. Truth is.. I love celebrating anything and everything. In our family, we don’t go out on V day because we don’t like crowds. I usually cook up something that we don’t often partake in (last year was steak and lobster), and the kiddos get a little goodie basket on the table in the morning. Pretty simple, but still effectively celebratory.
However, Valentine’s Day is dumb for one reason. It removes an entire group of people with one swift kick. A painful kick. One that says, if you don’t have someone, this holiday is not for you. I rebelled against that when I was single. One year, my good girlfriends and I celebrated together by giving each other roses, and watching movies together. Another year, my 2 year old chubby nephew (his momma) left a Valentine’s in my school mailbox. I cried like a baby, because it was simply the cutest thing ever, and I loved him fiercely. I still do.. he is just a man now, so I can’t squish his cheeks anymore.
Another Valentine’s Day, as a teenager, I was babysitting for a couple in my church. I was happy to make Mac N Cheese, and play with the kiddos, while the parents celebrated. The mom even showed me her gift to her husband.. A stunningly gorgeous wall portrait of her in something meant only for the bedroom. I was in awe, and a little jealous, and vowed then and there I would do that for my husband too. Her image wasn’t raunchy. It wasn’t inappropriate. It was tasteful, and lovely, and absolutely breathtaking. What a great example she was for me as a young girl. To be generous with my beauty for my husband’s eyes only.
Flash forward to nearly 15 years of marriage. Lots of life lessons. A body that has gone through a lot. And yet, I am still called to be generous to my husband. One of my photographer friends took some pics for me a few years back that involved a black jacket, a cute hat, and some visual generosity. ๐ I was completely covered, and felt comfortable, but it was still a glamour session. Point is, you can wear whatever makes you feel most beautiful. No excuses.. I’m a big girl, and I still did it, and loved the result.
I want every woman to be generous with their beauty for their man. That is why I am offering a ridiculous deal on boudoirs this season.
Picture this. You wrap the outfit you wore on your shoot. You place a printed portrait on top. Wrap with a pretty bow, and give to your man. That’s love, my friends.
And, hey, if you want in on this deal to give to a future someone, that’s future love, and I’m all about that too. Jump in on it.
