San Diego Family Photographer – Mission Trails
I had the distinct pleasure of photographing this red, white and blue family this past week. We were at the very warm and sunny Mission Trails, and there were multiple warnings of rattlesnake sightings. In fact, one was in the leaves near the tree I like to shoot at. So.. we grabbed a few shots there, and by our 3rd hiker walk by warning, we decided to head to safer territory.
As I said on my Facebook page, you cannot procure these kinds of portraits at the mall. There is a reason custom portraiture exists.
Beginning Photography Tips – If you are at Mission Trails, the very best time to take photos is about an hour before sunset, well that rule applies anywhere actually. The problem at Mission Trails? The gates close at 7pm, and don’t get it twisted… they really do lock those gates! Since summer time sunsets begin waaay later, it can often be too bright at Mission Trails. Enter the great tree. It provides enough shade to filter out the sun, but allows some of it to peak through for that great backlight. Be careful of spotty dappled light on the face. And also, rattlesnakes. 😉
Happy Photographing!!
