Nicholai had been planning this for months. We came up with the plan where I would contact Jessica, and ask if the two of them would be willing to model for me for a promo video shoot I was doing. She happily agreed, saying they didn’t have any pro images yet. She even jokingly referred to these being used for engagement photos too. I didn’t want to give anything away, so I casually said.. sure, use them for whatever. Eek! I’m a really bad liar, and it was a good thing most of this was done over email.
As with most women, our intuition is strong, and she had a feeling something was up all last week. But one can never really be sure about these things. Jess was wearing a perfect LBD in black lace, with a tan skinny belt. She looked stunning. Nic coordinated so well with a black and white patterned shirt. Both of them brought legit cowboy boots. I was thrilled. I thought it was awesome that Nic thought of how Jess would want the final images to look. He had me coordinate with Jess about outfits so it wouldn’t come from him, but the thought was a good one and it was his idea! Guys, we girls want to have pretty pictures of all the various stages of our lives. It is just one of those things we love.
We started shooting and got some great sun flared before(ring) images. Nic and I had talked, and the code was to have him go get his blazer to dress up the shots. Twas a good way to hide the ring box, yes? He then asked if he could come up with a pose on his own, which was my code for.. start video-ing! My good friend, and fellow photog, Amy Gray, came along to grab the stills of the actual “Will you be my” while I was shooting live. Check her images out too.. she is a fab photographer! So here is a compilation of our shots.. capturing a great day in this couple’s life. We were so honored to be there, and hey, I would be happy to photograph your engagement too!!
And, guess what Jess? You CAN use these for your engagement photos!!
Thanks again Amy Gray!! 🙂
